This, the third volume in a set that reprints the fanzine Noise For Heroes, covers the period that starts with the last two print issues in the early Nineties and spans roughly the next ten years. During this time, a lot happened in rock music. Grunge rose and fell, punk/pop bands like Rancid and Green Day briefly stormed into the mainstream charts. The compact disc destroyed the economic viability of vinyl records. The internet came and destroyed not only the economic viability of compact discs, but also the viability of small indie labels and print fanzines. Physical media became an anachronism, and after another five year gap, Noise For Heroes resurfaced in on-line form. But the indie uprising of the previous ten years was over, and now each feature was like a story from a distant war that, despite some epic battles, was ultimately lost. But the stories are still valuable, memories of a time when music really mattered. They shall not be forgotten.
